Major Cocaine & Heroin Bust in Monmouth County NJ

Nj.com has reported that, in all, thirty-two people were charged with various drug related offenses based on what has been dubbed as “Operation Lights Out” in Monmouth County this past week. Apparently the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office gang unit launched this investigation following the sudden spike in shootings in towns like Asbury ParkNeptune Township and Long Branch. To date, twenty-nine individuals have been arrested and charged with various different drug offenses and arrest warrants have been issued for three additional suspects as well. When the dust settled, the investigators uncovered more than 200 grams of cocaine and 35 bricks of heroin along with several illegal weapons as well. Apparently the investigators were able to determine that the “enterprise”, which mainly being run by the gang known as “G-Shine”, which is allegedly a subsection of the Bloods Street Gang, was distributing somewhere between 150 to 200 grams of powder and crack cocaine each and every week. That has a street value of more than $225,000. On top of that, they were distributing more than 250 decks of heroin each week as well.

Most of the thirty-two Defendants were charged with first degree racketeering, conspiracy to possess and conspiracy to distribute cocaine and heroin. According to the Monmouth County Prosecutor, Christopher Gramiccioni, “Our objective is to continue to do all that we can to make the streets of Monmouth County safe for everyone,” … “Dismantling entrenched criminal enterprises that peddle drugs, unlawfully possess and transfer firearms and inflict violence, remains our priority.” So as you can see, the Monmouth County prosecutor’s office is dedicated to aggressively seeking an prosecuting anyone and everyone that is selling drugs and causing havoc on their streets.
