Major Drug Bust in Princeton NJ

The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office announced this week that there was yet another rather large drug bust in the County, this time in Princeton. Following what is believed to have been a rather lengthy investigation, detectives uncovered that three individuals, two of whom are brothers, were operating rather elaborate marijuana and acid distribution network within the area. According to the information that has been released at this point in time, it appears that the detectives were able to set up and conduct several undercover purchases from the defendants, including a first-degree quantity of acid.

Based on the all the evidence that they had obtained throughout the investigation, the detectives decided to conduct a motor vehicle stop on one of three defendants. It is unclear what the basis for the search was but a search of the defendant’s vehicle was conducted and it revealed seven acid tablets. A search of that defendant’s home was conducted and it revealed ten grams of marijuana, two acid tablets, three Xanax pills, one Suboxone and ten grams of 2-CP, which is a synthetic hallucinogen. The detectives also conduct a search of the other two defendants home, which is located on Red Oak Row. Uncovered during that search was over 20 grams of marijuana as well as just under $800 in cash.

The two brothers were both arrested and charged with various drug offenses, including several third degree felony offenses. The brothers were release upon a summons and they must likely have a central judicial processing date in the near future. The third defendant was not as lucky. Based on the first degree quantity of acid that he sold to an undercover detective, he was taken to the Mercer County Jail, where he awaits his detention hearing. During this hearing the prosecution will be seeking to convince the Judge that the Defendant must be detained in the Mercer County Jail, pending trial, without bail.

The first degree drug distribution charge alone subjects the Defendant to for up to twenty years in a State Prison and up to $200,000.
