When the officers arrived on scene the quickly learned that a large crowd had began to gather as a result they quickly requested additional backup. During the investigation, the officers on scene learned that the stabbing occurred at a gathering at house on Cookman Avenue. The victim was taken to Jersey Shore Medical to be treated for a stab wound to his abdomen. All reports indicate that the victim is in stable condition.It is unclear at this point in time whether the \u201cstabber\u201d was actually arrested and charged as a result of the incident. However, the Asbury Park Police Department did make several arrests for among other things,\u00a0disorderly conduct\u00a0and\u00a0resisting arrest. If the \u201cstabber\u201d is actually arrested, they will most likely be charged with\u00a0aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. These are very serious charges and based on the underlying degree of the aggravated assault, the Defendant could be facing up to a decade behind bars.
