Gramiccioni, a forty (40) year old male from Wall Township was arrested and formally charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child\u00a0and one count of promoting obscene materials from a minor. Based on the information that has been released at this point, it appears that the defendant is alleged to have requested naked photos from a fourteen (14) year old boy. In order to commit the crime, the defendant allegedly used an online dating platform to send sexual explicit messages to the boy, which included requesting the photos. Unfortunately for the defendant, the fourteen year old boy was actually an undercover police officer. Following the sting, the defendant was formally taken into custody and processed at the Monmouth County Jail. This investigation involved the efforts of multiple agencies, which include detectives from the Wall Township Police Department, detectives from the Monmouth County Prosecutor\u2019s Office and detectives from their special Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.As one would imagine, these are very serious charges and ones that tend to be aggressively prosecuted. The defendant is facing anywhere from 5 to 10 years in a New Jersey State Prison, a fine up to $150,000, a felony criminal record, Parole Supervision for Life as well as mandatory Megan\u2019s Law Registry on the endangering the welfare of a child charge alone. He is facing another 3 to five years in State Prison on the promoting obscene material from a child charge.Promoting Obscene Material From Minor Charges in Freehold NJTypically, promoting obscene material from anyone under the age of eighteen (18) will be considered a\u00a0third degree indictable offense (felony). The governing statute in New Jersey for promoting obscene material from a minor is N.J.S.A. 2C:34-3b.
