Onofri, the Mercer County Prosecutor has issued a press release to members of the community, this time warning individuals in the county that there is yet another bad batch of heroin floating around. According to the press release, just last week alone, law enforcement throughout Mercer County had to deploy seven dosages of Narcan to revive heroin overdoes. Four of the dosages were deployed in Hamilton Township alone and both Ewing and Robbinsville required the two dosages as well. The batch of heroin stamped “LEXUS RAD” was linked to at least two of the seven overdoses last week. Authorities believe that this batch is laced with another drug, something much stronger, most likely fentanyl. As you can see, the war on heroin continues in Mercer County. This has been a major problem not only in Mercer County but throughout the whole state for the better part of the last decade. Law enforcement is doing everything and anything to combat this problem. Which includes arresting and prosecuting anyone linked to not only the distribution of heroin but the possession of heroin as well. With that being said, Mr. Onofri in his press release made sure to remind everyone that “If you see someone experiencing signs of an overdose, don’t run. Call 911. You are shielded from culpability when you call for medical help.”Hamilton NJ Heroin Defense AttorneysIf you or a loved one has been charged with possessing heroin or distributing heroin in Mercer County, in towns like Hamilton, Lawrenceville, Ewing, Hopewell, West Windsor, Trenton or elsewhere throughout the county, we strongly recommend that you speak to an attorney as soon as possible. Law enforcement takes these offenses very seriously, in fact, prosecuting individuals is just another tactic to try and end the war on heroin. They have even began using a decades old law that seeks to charge dealers with murder if one of they users overdoses and dies as a result of their “sale”.
