The charges stem from what an incident that took place in Commons Way. It is alleged that the Defendant was involved in a single car motor vehicle accident, however, instead of remaining at the scene and reporting the accident, he fled the scene. The Bridgewater Police were able to quickly locate the Defendant and take him into custody. Based on the officers observations, the Defendant was asked to submit a breath sample so that it could be determined whether he was under the influence. However, the Defendant refused to give a sample and as a result was charged with the following offenses:Driving While Intoxicated;Refusal To Submit a Breath Sample;Leaving the Scene of an Accident;Failure to Maintain Lane;Unlicensed Driver;Failure to Report an Accident;Failure to Wear a Seatbelt.Charged with DUI in Bridgewater NJ?The Defendant was processed and released upon a summons to a sober driver, which is required pursuant to John\u2019s Law.
