According to nj.com, officials from Aberdeen Township have confirmed that they have taken a juvenile into custody following an alleged threat made on social media this weekend. However, at this point in time no additional information has been released as they continue to investigate the situation. Furthermore, it is important to note here that based on the information that has been released at point, it does not appear that the juvenile has formally been charged with a crime. Although there are various different subsections of NJSA 2C:12-3, the most common subsection is NJSA 2C:12-3a. NJSA 2C:12-3a seeks to criminalize a situation where in which someone who makes a threat of violence upon another with the intent to terrorize that person.
